The Murmuration
The Murmuration is a monthly gathering for people who want to stay close to themselves as the year moves.
Once a month-ish, we meet live to pause, take stock, and write—using seasonal journaling as a way to notice what’s changing inside you and around you. This practice helps us to pay attention: to the weather you’re living in, the questions that keep returning, the small shifts you might otherwise miss.
Each gathering follows a gentle, repeatable rhythm.
a short reflection grounded in the season
a guided journaling invitation
quiet time to write
a soft closing to help you re-enter the rest of your life
No homework, no expectation to share, and no pressure to “keep up.” The writing is for you.
This isn’t a class or a course. It’s a somewhat monthly practice—a place to check in, record what’s true, and return to yourself in real time.
The Inspiration
A murmuration is the way birds gather and move together through attention and responsiveness, rather than a single leader. The Murmuration takes its name from that pattern—a shared rhythm that shifts and reforms, held lightly and collectively.
Who It’s For
The Murmuration is for anyone who:
wants a steady, low-pressure journaling rhythm
is drawn to seasonal awareness rather than goal-setting
uses writing as a way to think and feel, not perform
wants a sense of collective presence without obligation
You don’t need to be a writer.
You don’t need a perfect journal.
You don’t need to attend every month.
You just need a place to return to—and something to write with.
How It Works
The Murmuration meets around equinoxes, solstices, and seasonal change, live on Zoom, for about an hour and 15 minutes.
Each gathering includes:
a brief seasonal reflection
a guided journaling invitation
quiet time to write
a gentle closing
You’ll receive details and reminders by email. Attendance is always optional.
The Murmuration is free. There is no required fee to join. Those who wish to support the work can subscribe to Shangrilogs.
